As the member of the largest Horse Assisted Education facilitator network – the licensed HorseDream network – we run horse assisted developmental programmes enabling personal development at every level of an organisation – trainings for newbies, junior and senior management, and members of boards of directors. We assist organisations in creating innovative, cooperative and stable teams.

 

Major features of the developmental programmes we develop:

 

Horses as trainers – as trainers we select horses after specific training who demonstrate large level of independence. It enables interactions based on relations, not conditioning and obedience.

 

Facilitation – the entire process is run by a facilitator. Their tasks include building up a space by encouraging participants to be proactive, assisting participants in creating relations with horses, and supporting the process with respect to the goals of a group and individuals.

 

Learning by experience – in our programmes we put top priority on balance between experiencing and description to follow the essential principle of the Horse Assisted Education – every participant spends a well-balanced period of time with horses.

Horses allow you to open your mind, broad your horizons; they create bridges between people. As a result, they enable finding solutions and acquiring skills related to a given challenge and context an organisation finds itself at the moment. We offer you an encounter based on relations with horses which enhances switching on “the global perspective” and activating the potential in people, so crucial to manage a situation on one’s own. Including horses in the learning process adds up unique values to developmental programmes for people. During workshops people experience new, creative ideas and concepts which combine emotions, feelings and thoughts. A new way opens up leading to the development of new acting methods. Every programme is a one-of-its-own, thoroughly prepared and discussed encounter.

 

(…) We store a lot of clichés in our heads. For example, the leader has to be stronger, smarter, better than others they lead. However, it turns out that the leadership can be understood as providing safety and care. Many situations have shown that we don’t appreciate the good will of the second party. Horses wanted to co-operate. Watching the recording from the workshops we could see that a horse would have co-operated with us even if we had used less measures and had been gentler.

Depending on a goal/challenge, we provide onetime or longer-term programmes. All programmes include qualitative and participatory evaluation basing on the dialogue with participants of the programme to redirect the route and action adequacy. Programmes are modified and shaped by this evaluation. The goal of such programmes is to activate actions and changes incorporating business context together with individual potential, experiences, and mood of people working in a company. 

 

Which spheres can the Horse Assisted Education affect?

LEADERSHIP

Conscious. Authentic. Courageous. Horses look for respect and trust in their relations with people. They start to trust when they experience: attentiveness (the ability to observe and perceive changes in one’s surrounding), clear decisions and direction (how to respond to these changes), concentrated energy (giving them hints about the pace and types of actions to undertake), and coherence (internal and external expression).

 

COMPLEX COMMUNICATION AND GOAL ACHIEVEMENT

Horses respond to actions. The thought itself is not enough. During various experiences we train the coherence between thoughts, and emotions and actions. Coherence in communication opens the way for better understanding of one’s individual way to goal achievement and mistakes made on the way, as well as finding one’s ways to tackle with problems.

 

EMOTIONS IN ACTION

Emotions can be irrational or can show us the way. Emotions overwhelming you during the contact with horses bring chaos and hinder mutual actions. Blocked emotions make us less clear and understandable to horses. Horses teach in a natural way how to use emotions as hints while controlling one’s integrity at the same time.

 

The programme is just a structure draft and it evolves depending on experiences and topics which appear. Experiences of contact with horses are facilitated in the context of the group’s needs and goals at a given moment. The space created during the programme is a “living organism” co-built be participants, horses, and a facilitator.
